The Anomaly
by
Joann Humby, Aptmt42 & Medusa.
An incredible story about Mulder returning and finding out who are his friends. The Co-writers - Joann, Aptmt42 and Medusa all have a very strong grasp of who Mulder is, as well as the other characters. The result is a solid and well written story that is a keeper that you would want make a paper copy of to be available to read whenever and wherever you feel like it. Many times!

Pain in the
Night
By dee_aay
Going by my few previous recommendations, it is pretty clear that I'm a MulderTorture fan. This time it's medical MulderTorture!
In this story Mulder's shoulder pops out, and that is basically it. But dee_aay is the best at doing this sort of story. Because I found it a fascinating and a realistic read, one I've re-read many times. Her characterisations are excellent and you feel like she has done her research. Pain in the Night also has sequels, Shouldering Responsibility and Shouldering the Blame.

Scar Tissue
by
Joann Humby
Joann Humby is one of my favourite writers, and while reading "Scar Tissue" I was quickly enthralled with her excellent writing very early on in the story. Humby has written a lot of pre-xfiles Mulder profiler stories, and I love this sort of story and find Humby to be the best fanfic author of this type of fanfic.
In "Scar Tissue" Mulder in 1988 joins another agent on a case involving a kidnapper/killer that is proving to be very hard for the authorities to catch. As usual the characterisation of Mulder is spot on and the other agent that he has joined on the case, (Agent Jeanette Abrahams) is also a interesting older women that is also Mulder's lover. If looking for a fantastic intelligent read, I recommend reading this story and anything else by Joann Humby. Also includes a bit of an X-file!

Future
Winnings
by Ecolea
At first I was a bit hesitant to read this fan fiction because it is a ST:Voyager/X-Files crossover... I mean the whole idea of these two worlds meeting, seemed a little silly to me, considering the huge time differences.
But in this story Mulder is found in a cryogenic sleep by the crew of the Voyager in a derelict alien ship, which I found very believable. The story continues from there to be a fascinating tale of how Mulder adjusts to this new world.
Ecolea is a fine story teller who has crafted a very well written crossover series. She reintroduced me to the crew of the Voyager with great characterizations (made me think of staying up real late at night to catch a 'ST:Voyager' episode). A bonus for me was that the series is Mulder Centric and the latest instalment of the series is a Profiler!Mulder fic (I love Profiler!Mulder fics)
